Not only does this apply to Peter Parker in the whole Spider-man saga but also to another Peter from a different universe of heroes. If you have been watching any good TV these past few months then y'all know who I'm talking about. But for those living under a TV-less rock, I'm talking about Peter Petrelli from Heroes.With great power comes great responsibility
In the final scene of the latest episode, which was aired last night, we see Peter envisioning himself emitting massive amounts of radiation and then eventually blowing up. Now, we know he doesn't have this power... yet. So it can be assumed that he will meet the dude who does (Ted Sprague) and being unable to control it, blows up NYC (like Hiro sees in the future).
This is the most common interpretation of Peter's vision, which shows a lot of the 'heroes' around him. However, it is also very likely that he is experiencing what Ted will be feeling in the near future. Or perhaps, with all the 'heroes' being so close to him, he may have absorbed all their powers at the same time and becomes so overloaded that he goes bye bye.
Also, we know he has connections with people when dreaming, much like he had with his brother Nathan and with Mr. Deveaux (the old man he was caring for and the father of the woman he is currently quasi-boinking), so this supports the theory that he is seeing what Ted is seeing. However, he's never had contact with Radioactive Man but did with his bro and pseudo-father-in-law. Hmmm.
Whatever the explanation is, I'll have to wait at least another seven weeks as the show is on holiday hiatus until 22 January 2007. Boo urns.
P.S. When Eden died, I was unsure if Sylar killed her or if she killed herself. It was all a blur. I'll have to re-watch. Also, if Sylar was able to use his power to reel her in, then why couldn't he use it on HRG? Perhaps the Haitian was present and blocking him? Also, if he was able to use his power, couldn't he have escaped earlier with nobody present? Double you tee eff.
